Education & Experience
Dr. Pelco is a professor in the School of Education at the College of William & Mary. She earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University and completed her post-doctoral fellowship in Developmental Disabilities at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Pelco has held a number of clinical and faculty positions including lecturer at the University of South Australia, assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine, and school psychologist in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia.
 
Teaching & Research
Dr. Pelco teaches classes in the School Psychology graduate program at the College of William & Mary, including Prevention & Intervention in Schools, Preschool Assessment: Best Practices for Early Intervention, Ethics, and Practicum/Internship in School Psychology. Dr. Pelco also teaches service-learning and international service learning courses, including a freshman seminar on the topic of disability and The W&M Caribbean Service-Learning Program. Her research interests include early intervention, family-school-community partnerships, and service-learning.
 
Professional Service
Dr. Pelco co-directs (with Dr. Sandy Ward) the graduate program in School Psychology at the College of William & Mary. She served as the 2004-2006 Area Coordinator for the School Psychology & Counselor Education Programs and as the 2007-2009 Sharpe Professor of Civic Engagement.
 
Family
Dr. Pelco grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where most of her family still lives. She is married to Christopher Ball, a professor of psychology at the College of William & Mary, and has three children—two sons in high school (Macon & Casey) and a daughter in elementary school (Julia).
